2013 Auction Sneak Peek: “Independence” by Amanda Lauren Padilla
The artwork of Amanda Padilla is heavily based in concepts of humanity. The ability to convey authentic ideas, both personal + on the behalf of others, is an art form in itself that doesn’t always require paint and water. She is most interested in expressing the message, regardless of its medium. Her extensive international travel experiences and her genuine belief that universal human rights should be a given, not a luxury have shaped her artwork and is the foundation for her work at Humanity United, a foundation committed to building peace and advancing human freedom.
“Independence” is a collage of newspaper, charcoal, and acrylic paint on canvas. This piece is about a woman’s independence and being completely happy in her own mind and confident in her ability to be independent. We’re excited to feature an artist whose work mirrors WPIG’s mission to help women move from places of need to places of stability and self sufficiency.
